Sedation FAQs
We use a variety of safe and effective medications for sedation, depending on the level of relaxation needed. Common options include nitrous oxide (laughing gas), oral sedatives, and IV medications such as midazolam. Our team carefully tailors sedation to each patient’s needs to ensure a comfortable and stress-free experience.
No. The effects last many hours and driving is not safe. We will call your ride at the end of your appointment to bring you home. You should not plan to do anything but sleep for the rest of the day. By the next morning you will feel normal, rested and ready to get on with your life.
Yes, a local anesthetic will be administered to ensure the procedure is pain-free. Sedation is used alongside local anesthesia to help with relaxation and reduce anxiety during treatment.
Most people do doze during their appointment, but our primary goal is relaxation and comfort with safety.
A single tooth supported by an implant is like turning back the clock of time. The implant replaces the natural tooth root so the jaw bone and supportive gum tissue is as vibrant as ever. Multiple single implants may support single teeth or an implant supported bridge. Dental implants may also support the base for full arch dentures to attach to which provides the look, feel and function of natural teeth. Dental implant treatments is the only tooth replacement solution that prevents jaw bone resorption, which can cause your smile to look unnatural and in some cases, change your facial appearance. The long term esthetics of dental implants are superior to any other treatment option.
Sedation is very safe when administered by trained professionals. We carefully evaluate your medical history, monitor you throughout the procedure, and use proven medications to ensure your comfort and well-being. Our team follows strict safety protocols to minimize risks and provide a stress-free experience.
No. There is a sedation fee to cover the expense of the drugs and the monitoring, but we don’t try to profit from sedation. Our profit (and yours) is in your comfort and in the quality of your care.
Not at all. Many patients choose sedation to ease anxiety, increase comfort, or manage a strong gag reflex. It’s a common and safe option that helps make dental treatment a more relaxed experience.
Ideal for minimally invasive procedures, local anesthesia numbs the surgical area without altering awareness or memory. Patients can arrive alone and drive themselves to and from their appointments.
Also known as “laughing gas,” this inhaled gas induces mild sedation and pain relief, enhancing relaxation during the procedure. Patients can arrive alone and drive themselves afterward.
It is a medical procedure that involves administering medications directly into a patient’s bloodstream through an intravenous (IV) line.
General anesthesia is used for complex procedures, ensuring complete comfort by putting patients to sleep. It is ideal for those with severe dental anxiety or high-risk medical conditions. This type of sedation is typically administered in a hospital setting or outpatient surgery center with close monitoring.
